MINIMAX H3, ANSWERED
Is MiniMax H3 free to use?
Yes to start: the free credits on sign-up cover a 5-second 480P clip with native sound, which costs 24 credits — and a signed-in account has enough for two. After that it is pay-per-video with credits. No subscription, no card up front, and the exact price sits on the Make Video button before anything is spent.
How much does MiniMax H3 cost?
It is priced per second, and the rate follows the tier and the resolution. A 5-second clip is 24 credits on Fast at 480P, 48 on Fast at 768P, 60 on Pro at 768P, and 84 on Pro at 2K. Every one of those includes native stereo audio rather than charging for sound separately. Credits come in packs, not a subscription.
Is MiniMax H3 the same as Hailuo 3.0?
Yes — H3 is the third generation of the line Hailuo came from, released on 31 July 2026. MiniMax markets it as MiniMax H3 everywhere except their consumer app, which still carries the Hailuo name, so the two names describe one model. Hailuo 2.3 is the previous generation and is still here as its own entry in the model menu.
Does MiniMax H3 generate audio?
Yes, and there is no switch to forget: dialogue, sound effects and room tone are generated in the same pass as the picture and timed to what is on screen, rather than laid over it afterwards. Audio is always on across both tiers, which is the point of an omni-modal model — it reads and writes sound as part of the same context as the frames.
Can MiniMax H3 make 2K video?
Yes, on the Pro tier, which is the only route to 2K here — the Fast tier tops out at 768P. Pick Pro in the model menu and then raise the resolution; a 5-second 2K clip is 84 credits. H3 renders 2K natively at 24fps rather than upscaling a smaller render, so the detail is generated rather than interpolated.
How fast is MiniMax H3?
About 40 seconds for a 5-second 480P clip on the Fast tier, measured on our own generations — quick enough to iterate on a prompt rather than wait on one. The Pro tier is slower at roughly two minutes for the same length, which is the trade for 2K and MiniMax's own hosting. Both run in the background, so you can queue another while one renders.
What is the difference between Fast and Pro?
They are two hosts of the same model. Fast runs the weights MiniMax open-sourced on 3 August 2026, costs half as much, reaches 480P, and finishes in about 40 seconds. Pro calls MiniMax's own API: it is the only way to 2K, starts from 4 seconds rather than 5, and makes no cold starts. Draft on Fast, finish on Pro.
What can I feed MiniMax H3 here?
One image and a prompt — the clip takes its aspect ratio from what you upload, so frame the photo the way you want the video. H3 itself also reads reference video and audio, and neither is wired up in this generator yet. For multi-image reference work today, Seedance 2.5 takes up to thirty and Vidu and Kling up to seven.
Is this the official MiniMax website?
No. Photo to Video is an independent product by Joseph Works Limited that runs MiniMax H3 through official API partners. We are not affiliated with or endorsed by MiniMax. The upside: Seedance, Kling, Wan, Veo, Sora and every other top model sit one click away in the same generator, on the same credits.
